Matthew 25:20-23
So he who had received five talents came and brought five other talents, saying, 'Lord, you delivered to me five talents; look, I have gained five more talents besides them.' His lord said to him,'Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.' "He also who had received two talents came and said, 'Lord, you delivered to me two talents; look, I have gained two more talents besides them.' "His lord said to him, 'well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.'
As I was studying the literal, future, physical reign of Jesus Christ upon the earth, I was stirred with the reward system of God. He has promised reward in the age to come to those who will live a certain way now. I have encountered many people with many different opinions of what that "way of life" looks like. It is as varied as the giftings and callings that God has given to His people, yet many principles are the same.
The one that seemed to tie it all together for me is possessed by both of the men Jesus uses in the parable of the talents. I was filled with joy again today to realize that it is not as important what we are given as it is what we do with what we are given. These two men received the same amazing praise from their lord, yet had produced varied results. The declaration was..."You have been faithful."
A little sacrifice now to be faithful is the greatest investment we could ever make.
Does this even constitute a sacrifice? It is more like an amazing buisness transaction. We buy low with a little obedience and the return is amazing...ruling with the God-man Christ Jesus upon the earth!
This is so worth it God!
