Arise and Build!

Sunday Night we had the privelidge of meeting together at Hope Of The Nations Christian Center on N. Fifth St. We had one of the most amazing nights of prayer I can ever remember as we stood together in unity for the purposes of God and for the church leaders He has blessed us with in this region!

One of the prayer focuses as we interceded for and with our leaders was the idea of each church building their section of the wall. In Nehamiah's day, each family group would take "ownership" of the section of the wall near them and work together to build. As each group built, they joined section to section until the wall was finished.

This wall, as with every walled city at that time, was for the protection of the people who lived in the surrounding areas. They could gather to the city and be safe from attackers. The point of a wall is that it requires all who enter to enter by the gates. The gates were the place where decisions were made about what could come in and what must stay out. If the wall is not in place, there is no way to mandate what may or may not come into our city.

It seems to me that we have a tendancy to complain about all the enemy has brought into our city, but scripture is clear that God is looking to us to build a wall! The wall, according to Ezekiel 22:30, is a wall of intercession. God is looking for a man or a woman, a church or a city of churches to build a wall!

Ezekiel 22:30"I looked for a man among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it, but I found none.

It is extremely encouraging to see the body of Christ here in the Greater Reading Region, responding to this call.

Our declaration is:
Nehamiah 2:20 "The God of heaven Himself will prosper us; therefore we His servants will arise and build..."

"NIGHT AND DAY, WE WILL WATCH AND WE WILL PRAY!"

Yes, as a newcomer here in Reading, I have my orders to devote my time in my area, which is Reading. Even if my church is not in the city, nor my house directly in the city, God has called me to pray here! Maybe some of you are still questioning where you should be? If we each come and do not let the candle of prayer be silent, nor the worship to cease, the job will get done! Are you called to be that watchman? In your heart you know the answer.
